A week at the IAA Transportation 2022

Last month saw the IAA Transportation take place once again. The Dennison team headed out to Hanover, bringing five trailers to display on our stand alongside a Megalift side loader.

The IAA Transportation is the leading international forum for all aspects of mobility, helping to shape the future of the logistics and transport industry.

With the demands of future mobility constantly changing, the IAA premieres technological trends and innovations in the world of buses, vans, trucks, and trailers, with a view to harmonising delivery and freight traffic alongside the shift to new forms of urban mobility.

So, which Dennison trailers were showcased at the IAA?

Link Steer Container

The German market saw the launch of our link steer container chassis with twin VSE electro hydraulic steering axles, coupled to a 1+2 sliding bogie multi-function Twin Teu chassis.

The overall length of the two trailers run in combination at 25.25m, complying with the 12.5m/5.3m turning circle rule. This patented link chassis can couple to any rear trailer, enabling use of an existing semi-trailer fleet.

We also displayed our brand new 1+2 sliding bogie multi-function Twin Teu lightweight chassis. This is a further development in our range of multi-function split chassis, letting you carry either one 40’ or two 20’ containers and splitting the chassis so both 20’ can be offloaded simultaneously.

Running as a 40’ trailer, it can be operated either as a two axle chassis or a three axle chassis. The front trailer’s axle is both self-tracking and lifting. When separated, the rear 20’ chassis features a sliding bogie, which perfectly balances the 20’ tandem axle container chassis.

40’ Rise & Slide

Our 40’ Rise & Slide is finding favour with many German, Austrian, Swiss, and French operators who appreciate being able to carry a heavy 20’ container in the centre of the trailer. This patented chassis has received consistent feedback about its simplicity in operation.

Launched in Hanover, the chassis has been designed to accommodate a Genmark UM5 genset. The genset can be used to power both a 20’ and a 40’ reefer container.

The rise and slide design means that the box can be easily placed flush to the end of the chassis for off-loading within minutes. A 40’ High Cube container and 2 x 20’ containers can also be carried all within 4m overall height.

On display at IAA was the chassis for Chassisvermietung Krichbaum, which is the 35th chassis we have delivered in the last three years.

40’ Road Chief

Another one of our new products launched at the IAA was the 40’ Road Chief. We were delighted with the huge interest in this trailer, which is ideal for all-round container transport in Germany.

Giving operators an alternative to the conventional continental style container chassis, this fixed chassis features a pull out rear to carry a 40’ box. The pull out incorporates a unique roller system. For ease of use, its controls are located within sight of the locking pins.

While in Hanover, we also showcased our 20’ Tank Chassis and our Megalift 40’/45’ Goose Neck Side Loader.

We had a brilliant week at IAA and are already looking forward to the next event in 2024!
