This year at the Multimodal show, we decided to do something a little different to celebrate our 50th successful year in trailer manufacture. Everyone saw the introduction of ‘Dennison Darts’, new brochures, the first every Dennison Trailer and the Golden Anniversary Trailer.Dennison DartsThe Dennison ‘3 Shot Challenge’ went down a storm with plenty of visitors and fellow exhibitioners. In celebration of our 50th anniversary, the challenge was to hit the ’50’/Bull’s eye once with three attempts. All Bull’s eye scorers were entered into our prize draw for £100. At the end of the three days we had ten bull’s eye scorers, and the winner we drew was David from Aztek Logistics. He was contacted the next week with a surprise phone call from James Dennison and was “very chuffed” to found he’d won £100.The TrailersCHASSIS NO: 001Our first ever trailer built in 1965 was displayed on top of a modern Dennison Teleporter. The old model stands as real testament as to how our trailers are really built to last. It was one of the first two trailers built by George and Jim Dennison in the workshop loaned by their Dad. They paid £10 for parts, 10 shillings on couplings and £25 on the axle, suspension, wheels and tyres. Their chassis design earnt them £325 for each trailer from their first customer, Thomas Gallager. It was from there that one of the UK and Ireland’s leading trailer manufacturers began to grow. The Golden Anniversary Dennison TrailerThe Golden was hauled all the way to Birmingham, giving all the drivers on the M6 something dazzling to look at. The trailer is one of our innovative Sliding Bogie Skeletals.
