Dennison Trailers have just manufactured and delivered 20 new platform trailers for the long established Swain Group. The Swain Group runs one of the largest fleet of flatbed trailers in the UK having over 500 trailers and 350 vehicles in their operation already. 2015 has been a big year for the fifth generation company who have already invested heavily in new vehicles purchasing twenty tractor units in March 2015 with another twenty-five due in the first quarter of 2016. This latest purchase comes after much thought and research into the type of trailers they needed to augment their range. Historically most trailers were purchased second hand, but this is the first time in a very long time that Swains have ordered new trailers. This decision was originally supply and cost led and buying second hand suited them on many levels. It was due to a change in specifications that the need to buy new arose, and it’s these specifications that Dennison were able to match. Peter Ham, Workshop and Fleet General Manager explained “To create the diversity of vehicles, trailers and equipment available for our customers, we knew we needed to procure a good stock of new, highly specified trailers. We researched the market place at length before making the decision to use Dennison and chose them because of their history and standards, and felt we would get the best service from them”. Peter finished by saying “Buying these 20 trailers now means we can put them straight into the fleet and do a direct comparison on their performance against the second hand models. I will be very interested to see the results. The Swain Group are proud to be dealing with Dennison and are looking forward to the future after investing heavily to secure our position in this sector”.
